About Mrs. Daubenspeck

    About me:

My name is Jennifer Daubenspeck and I am the Music teacher at Nance.  This is my fifth year to teach music at Nance, and I am really looking forward to it.  Before teaching music in Clinton, I taught music in the Cordell School system for 14 years.

I married Jamie Daubenspeck on April 30, 2016.  Together we have 5 children, Garett, Mason, Jared, Jake and Ashley.  We have 7 grandchildren:  Greelie, Canyon, Wrigley, Harper, Braylee, Easton and Maddon.  We are awaiting the arrival of one more this Spring.

I truly love music and know that it is very important in education.

Philosphy of Music Teaching:

I have completed Levels I and II of Orff training at SMU in Dallas, TX.  The philosophy of the Orff inspired music classroom is to allow the students to be children, and have child-like play as they learn.  Many songs, chants, instruments and movement are used to stimulate, encourage and enhance the students to use critical thinking.  Some things a parent might see would be a song and dance, composed by the students and accompanied by the students on instruments such as the xylophone.  You are welcome to drop in anytime to visit the music room and see this in action!

I look forward to singing, moving and having fun with the students at Nance!
